Why Study Sex Differences?

The following is a list of the five major areas of physiology, and the ways that the study of sex differences in health, aging and disease promises to improve disease detection and treatment, as well as overall health, in each area. By assembling a cross-disciplinary team of top researchers and clinicians, the CSD at Georgetown University promises to make comprehensive contributions to the study of sex differences while advocating the importance of sex-based research in all fields of medicine.
